TeleSAFE from UCM
A Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) program is part of a hospital's Emergency Department providing specialized medical and forensic exams for survivors of sexual assault. This specialized exam includes a detailed history, physical exam and collection of forensic evidence by a trained medical professional. In addition to evidence collection, SAFE providers also assure that patients receive the care they need after an assault.
Currently very few hospitals, particularly in rural areas, have the capability to provide rapid, competent care to sexual assault survivors 24 hours a day / 365 days a year. Specially trained examiners are often not available and the cost of a fully staffed, trained and prepared SAFE program is nearly $100,000 per year per hospital or millions of dollars for a statewide program. That’s where TeleSAFE from UCM can help.
Our Mission
The mission of United Concierge Medicine's (UCM) TeleSAFE Program is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care via telemedicine 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to any victim of sexual assault or abuse, regardless of the health care facility to which they present.
With UCM's TeleSAFE program, your hospital can rapidly implement a successful SAFE solution for your Emergency Department.
